A fun-filled day in the beautiful Lowcountry
The South Carolina Lowcountry will forever be one of my favorite places, so when Kierstin and Zach asked me to be their wedding planner, I was beyond excited! During our introductory call, Kierstin said they wanted the look and feel of a true Southern wedding while also making the reception a fun-filled time for guests to relax & enjoy their favorite games. This vision turned into a beautiful reality on their wedding day in Beaufort, South Carolina!
The Big Day
Our day started bright and early! I loved driving through the scenic roads and finally entering through the beautiful gate to take the tree-lined drive up to the front of Cotton Hall. This venue is absolutely stunning! The historic home is accompanied by a sprawling lawn and classic Southern oak trees. Kierstin and Zach's blue and white color palette fit in perfectly with the picturesque Lowcountry backdrop!
The ceremony was nothing short of a dream! Everyone proceeded under the oaks, walking down a path of dried white petals that led to the cross that was the main backdrop for the ceremony. Their officiant (and soon-to-be brother in-law) said the sweetest words about love and faith, followed by Kierstin and Zach's heartfelt vow exchange and a kiss to seal the deal! They absolutely nailed their halfway aisle dip & kiss, followed by guests showering them with petals!
Now, time for the party! Just as the ceremony ended, it began to drizzle slightly but that wasn't going to stop this group from celebrating! Lowcountry Taps did an awesome job keeping the drink supply going. Everyone was beginning to play games, just as Kierstin & Zach had envisioned it! They had cornhole, volleyball, board games, and so many others, it was a true reflection of their fun and competitive personalities!
Once the reception began, the couple made their grand entrance followed by the sweetest first dance and parent dances. If you looked over and saw me shed a few tears, mind your own business haha! Duvall Catering treated everyone with a delicious buffet spread, followed by cupcakes and cookies for dessert by Nothing Bundt Cakes. This whole day was filled with so much love and support from family and friends, so I just knew the speeches were going to be good and they certainly did not disappoint! It was so sweet hearing stories from the father of the bride and father of the groom as well as Kierstin's identical twin sister! It was evident how much each family member cares about the newly married couple and each other. The party continued into the late evening with more games, good music, and lots of fun and laughter!
Kierstin & Zach- It was a joy getting to work with you both to help you plan your big day! You're such a sweet couple and I loved getting to celebrate with you, your families, and friends! Cheers to you and your forever together as husband and wife!!
Special thanks to our amazing vendor team!
